Kroc Corps Community Center
The Salvation Army
"If two hoops at the end of an alley can save a life imagine the lives that can be changed with this facility..."
Maj. Ed Loomis, The Salvation Army
Phenominal !!! That's the work that Captain Jonathan Harvey used to describe the progress that's been made at the 28th Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. Following two years of planning, design and construction the Salvation Army will showcase their new 50,000 sf Community Center during a series of events over the Memorial Day weekend.
The completely renovated and expanded facility is the first phase of The Salvation Army's $40 million overall commitment to serve the Suisun City and Fairfield communities. Visitors will pass through the Galleria on their way to the Rock Climbing Wall, Gymnasium, Fitness Center, Dance and Aerobics Room, Spinning Room, Lap and Fitness Pools, Cafe, Child Watch Area and Community Meeting Rooms.
In July, the doors will open a new 10,000 sf Performing Arts Center that includes a 250 seat Chapel / Auditorium, Music Room, Classrooms and a new courtyard that will provide outdoor event space adjacent to the Community Meeting Rooms.
Owned and operated by the Salvation Army's Del Oro Division, the facility's mission is to "positively impact the neighborhood, providing a safe place for children, adults, families and seniors to interact with one another and to help produce healthy minds, bodies and souls.
